Stay-at-home-mom, you have worth!

I know some days you wonder if you measure up.

You just picked up toys for the 50th time today.

It took you one hour to cook dinner and 10 minutes for everyone to eat it.

You woke up twice with a crying child last night and didn't get enough sleep. Yet you still have to provide joy, laughter, discipline, education, entertainment, and mentoring to your wee ones all throughout the day, most likely without a nap.

You don't get a break. Even if you go to the bathroom or take a shower, you will still hear, "MOM!"

Your clean living room will be messed up the minute it was vacuumed. The laundry was only completely done for 2 minutes. The kitchen floor you just swept will be filled with crushed cheerios any second now.

You will talk to little children all day long and most likely not have an adult conversation until your husband gets home or a friend calls you. And then the minute that adult has your attention the children will want it too.

At the end of a long day you will want to take a nice, hot bath to relax, only to forget that Junior pooped in the bathtub earlier that day. You had rushed him out to clean up and never got around to sanitizing the tub. You just don't feel like cleaning it now.

I know how it feels. And I know sometimes the days can get a bit monotonous. It feels like groundhog day over and over again. You know you are making a difference in your child's life. You know you are doing what you have decided is best for your family. But sometimes, through the crushed cheerios and dried poop, it's easy to lose sight of how amazing you really are.

Your hair is thrown back in a pony-tail, you have dried spit-up on your shoulder, you are wearing a stained apron while cooking lunch and a little one is tugging at your legs.

You are beautiful beyond description. You are stunning with humility and grace. Your eyes twinkle with adoration for your children. Your heart beats with devotion and love for your family. You are making a difference. With every picked up toy, every cut vegetable, every kiss, every hug, every book read for the 20th time at bedtime, with every snack you prepare, every towel you fold, every song you sing and every step you take, you have worth and value.

You may not have a 6 figure career booming on the 38th floor of the highest skyscraper. You may not carry a briefcase to work and chart data and numbers. You may not wow the crowds with your professional expertise.

The truth is, you have one of the hardest jobs of all. You stay home with your children by yourself day-in-and-day-out. There is no preschool in your living room helping teach your child numbers and manners. There is no gym time with a P.E. teacher to coach your children in kickball. There is no experienced art teacher who visits your home to inspire your child to create. You are doing it. Every single job is yours.

You are strong and gifted because it is the Lord who gives you strength. He empowers you every single morning to get up with your family and make the atmosphere of your home warm and full of grace. You are worth far more than rubies.

You are stunning. You are gorgeous. You have worth!
