Video song (gasp, I'm nervous)

So one of our old youth group members who has since moved back to America gave me a request. A few months ago I posted a song I'd written. She asked if I could record it for her to hear.

Now folks, I don't have any kind of recording studio equipment at all. I have my itsy bitsy little video camera, that's it. Hardly song recording quality.

But, true to my word, I am posting this for her. You see, this young lady recently lost her younger brother to cancer this year. My heart breaks for their family, and yet I am inspired at the same time. They are some of the most incredible people I have ever met in my entire life. I wish we could have spent more time together.

I'm not gonna lie, the video quality is atrocious. I tried recording this song 4 different times. The first time the camera was too far away from me so my voice was hardly audible. The second time the camera fell off the shelf. The third time Sitora ran into the room and tried to play my guitar. The fourth time I videoed this recording here and was pretty much done trying anymore! I watched it afterward and cringed listening to myself. Ouch. I need some professional recording help, that's fo sho!

So Emily, this song is for you girl. I love you.

Here are the lyrics if you want to read along:

You stand there
All alone
It's hard to tell
If it's your tears
Or the rain falling down

Hush hush little baby
Daddy's gonna hold you tonight
Hush hush little baby
He's gonna make everything alright

So take off your mask
Let's forgive the past
We can do this together
Open up your heart
Let Him heal your scars
He will hold you forever...

Oh I see you
I cannot be fooled
Oh I see you
I know the truth
My darling, He is holding you

Hush hush little baby
Daddy's gonna hold you tonight
Hush hush little baby
He's gonna make everything alright

  2. I was really excited to listen to your song- it took about 30 minutes to down load and totally worth the wait! so funny about it being your fourth time to record. I look forward to hearing more of your songs. Love you Casey.
