This outfit

It's been a very long time since I've posted anything fashion related. Amidst my housecleaning, homeschooling, baby food making, and church responsibilities, this mamma has a passion for fashion! Oh my... I totally did not mean to rhyme that... cheese alert.

Even if I'm going to be home all day with my kiddos, I still try to look nice for my family. Even if I don't go all out with a funky outfit, I still try to put myself together somewhat to show my family that I care. I want my husband to be completely satisfied in his wife and I try my best to keep him interested. Let's be honest girls. There are ladies out there who are flaunting their stuff and might try to catch your man's eye when he's out and about. Let's give our hubbies reason to not give any other woman a second glance. A little lipstick and a cute shirt go a long way.

For us women, finding our husbands attractive has more elements to it than the physical. I don't know about you, but when my hubby helps out around the house, my heart skips a beat. Seeing him vacuum or make baby food... wow... I'm drooling :) Seriously though. I'm totally not kidding.

But for men, physical attraction is more important than it is for us gals (for the most part anyways). I want to look nice for my love as much as possible. It's like I'm saying, "I still think you're worth it, after all these years of marriage. I still want to catch your eye even if it's for a moment here at home."

This outfit has been hanging in my closet for quite a while now. I've accumulated bits and pieces of it here and there and finally decided how I liked it all together. For the past 5 months I have been trying it on, knowing full well it still doesn't fit quite right. But every time I tried it on it fit just a teeny bit better than the last time. I was motivated to keep up my workout routine knowing the reward was coming soon!

I've posted before here that it takes me a while to lose my baby weight. After I reach my goal weight, I have no problem maintaining it. I don't have a problem with food and I like to exercise. It takes me a full year to get back to my normal size. Every month I just keep reminding myself that I'm doing a great job and not to worry. I don't want to rush it or let it become bondage in my life. I want to be a good example for my daughter because she's watching every move I make. I want her to see an example of healthy living and not obsessing over outward appearances.

Just like every month, I tried on this outfit. And guess what? It finally fits! WAHOO! I was so elated that I ran down the steps to show my husband. He smiled and laughed, but any woman would understand what I was feeling at that moment. A guy could never quite get it ;)

So in honor of my slow but steady weight loss progress, I'm posting pics of the prized outfit. I'm thinking I may wear this for my concert. I'm looking to wear something vintage with a hint of modern tied in. We shall see.

Oh how much I love the polka-dots! I was so born in the wrong decade.
